Biography for Kennis L. Sigmon
Kennis is a native of Hampton Roads Virginia having
attended a local high school and graduating from Old Domination
University as well as obtaining masters degrees at Providence College
and the Naval Postgraduate School.
His professional background includes 23 years of military service as
a Captain in the Navy with a specialty in the Engineering Duty Officer
field. Primary responsibilities include all shipboard fire fighting
systems, training and on scene fire fighting. Assignments
included Chief Engineer on an aircraft carrier responsible for all
fire fighting and chemical/biological protection for over 5,000 people
during Desert Storm. Additionally he started his new career as
Division President of a national petroleum services company.
Kennis has made two major contributions to national safety by
inventing, developing and providing an unique one piece Chemical and
Biological suits as well as a revolutionary one piece fire escape
suit. The fire escape suit has a patent pending in the United States
and internationally.
The chemical/biological suits are currently used by the Army, Air
Force, Navy as well as State and Federal First Responders to include
the Secret Service and Washington D.C. Capital Police.
Mr. Sigmon is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Defender,
LLC which holds the worldwide distributor rights to the Xscape Safe
Fire Escape Kit and Suit.
The technology for the Xscape Safe product has previously only been available to the fire fighting community.
